Manitoba Pharmacare is an income-based drug program for Manitobans of any age whose prescription costs are high compared with their income. It's open to anyone with Manitoba Health coverage whose drugs aren't fully covered by another plan.
How the deductible works
Your annual deductible is a percentage of your family's adjusted income. Once your eligible prescription costs reach the deductible in the benefit year (April 1 to March 31), Pharmacare pays 100% of eligible costs for the rest of that year. You can choose to pay the deductible in monthly instalments on your utility bill instead.
How to register
- Apply online or on a paper form from your pharmacy.
- Once enrolled, you're automatically re-enrolled each year as long as you file taxes.
