Alberta's government-sponsored drug plans are administered by Alberta Blue Cross. Which plan you're on depends mainly on your age and whether you have other coverage.
Coverage for Seniors
Albertans 65 and older (and eligible dependants) are covered without a premium. You pay 30% of each prescription's cost, up to a maximum of $25 per prescription.
Non-Group Coverage
Albertans under 65 can buy Non-Group Coverage by paying a monthly premium, with subsidized premiums for lower incomes. It uses the same 30% / $25-per-prescription co-pay.
